Allright…
I have a job now pending some weird disaster I am currently employed…
Now it’s NOT at that Food canning company that I was talking about in my last journal but rather a small company taking care of the mentally handicapped.
It’s funny because I waited and waited got that job to call but they never did, and I saw a job list on Craigslist and jumped on it.
Now the pay is REALLY bad, at least for how may hours I have to put in, I work 12 hours night for four “days” a week, it’s a grave yard shift so it’s not like I’m working “hard” or any thing.
But we did the math and it comes out to 48 hours a week and my pay is like $1,300 a month so it comes down to like 6 bucks an hour if you think about it like that.
But it’s like do I earn LESS than minimum wage or do I not work? I mean many businesses are asking people to “work for free” some times so I guess it makes sence.
BUT I work for cool people and it’s not like they’re slave drivers or anything like that so it is a pretty lax job and there are many hours I can draw while at work.
BUT do to the hours I am at work I don’t have lots of computer time, so it’s like I can draw all I want I just can’t sell or post any thing…
At least until I can get a laptop or something witch I have heard there are some pretty good deals on laptops recently so it shouldn’t be to hard to get one with little problem.
As for how this effects plans like trying to go to conventions or saving money or getting a place of my own or moving or what ever I don’t, so I have to play things by ear and see what happens.
It’s like my life is improving… just not in any way that like helps in the long run …
But like I said I’ll play it by ear for now! |

WOW it has been an interesting couple of weeks
Well…
I stayed at the Roseburg homeless shelter for a while…and I gotta say…
How STUPID!!!
There were no job programs no rehabilitation programs and NOTHING but a place to sleep and food to help people…
NOTHING that would help them get out of there
Well I stuck around incase maybe the girl who kicked me out changed her mind…
I mean she kicked me out in such an angry way that almost every one just thought she was under stress and she MIGHT just let me back in…
BUT sence that’s not the case it left me in a bad place, it also means that I honestly have done something really bad in her mind to warrant being treated like I was, and I feel really bad for causing her so much stress…
My assumption is that the bills came in and they were higher than she was willing to let on, and I can’t BLAME her for what she did and I won’t either!
So I have traded
BUT with Roseburg being a bust my parents are letting me stay at there place for a while…
And I have to say there is SUCH a difference between Roseburg and Albany!
They actually have TEMP AGENCIES in Albany and it’s awesome to actually be able to work and earn a mild income
And to WORK!!!! One of the most annoying things about Roseburg is that people assumed that sence you couldn’t find work they thought it was because I was simply lazy and had no desire to work, but it’s nice to prove that WRONG!
Well I have a possibility of a job (well it’s weird they told me to show up on the 8th at like 8 in the morning) so I showed up at like 6 am just to beat the line….and it’s a good thing I did ‘cause there was 80 people were right after me at 7am…
So at first they told me to show up at like the 30th so I was off to Labor Ready and as I’m off to pack beef jerky they called me and changed it to the 15th!
I love labor ready there’s such a large variety of work you can do (Yah it was that way when I worked there in Pennsylvania) even though it is a little slow here in Oregon.
As far as art goes I don’t know, right now I need to focus on things that make money and I’ve tried the whole make a living selling commissions thing twice so far and have been screwed both times, but I know I need to do something more to get more faces turned my way but sence I don’t have lots of computer time right now I don’t know if I can do it or not and my dad gets kind of irritated any time I do anything that doesn’t make money.
I can come back from Labor ready at 4 in the afternoon and have worked at the Beef jerky plant till almost 11 last night and again in the morning at the Stadium cleaning seats from 8 in the morning exhausted and he’s all “So are you going back to work at the jerky plant tonight?” and then if I’m not at labor ready I’m supposed to uploading postcards on E-Bay to sell or helping them build a guest house… which I SHOULD be doing right now, but I just don’t know.
So yah I’ve been busy and I am really sore and tired (Which weirdly I am kind of enjoying) and I’m going back to Labor Ready at 5:30 tomorrow, maybe I’ll bring a drawing pad or something.
Yah I’ll try and get something more posted soon

I have been sleeping in my car while looking for work, (I had an interview the next day wich is awsome to go to an interview after sleeping in your car!
I have been sleeping in my car for four days hoping tht maybe she might change her mind, but it dosen't look like that will happen!
Most every one I know can't help me out either so that leavs me pretty much high and dry!
I have been staying at the local homless shelter but that's a waist if time because they have NO work or job progrma at all.
The best suggestions I have gotten so far as far as wht to do is sell the explorer and hitch hike to a place with a better economy, and look for work there!
Because even if I get out of Douglas County, Oregon still has the second highest unimployment of the country!
I have been pondering going to Seatle even if my cousen can't help me there and working from the homless shelter there, but the idea of Galavanting off to another state just seems like the plot to a bad 80's kids movie or something...
I mean come on if that really works howzabout I go to the coast and become a pirate while I'm at it!
So yah life REALLY sucks right now, and I don't know what to do but that's what's up so far! |

Why haven’t I done anything online recently?
Well I haven’t really been in the “Hey I want to draw or film something funny” mood
My friends are getting really pissed that I can’t find a job, and it’s just getting harder and harder to find one!
However I heard Jack In The Box was hiring so I went in and heard something I haven’t heard in A LONG TIME!
Donut: “Hey I heard you were hiring?”
Dude behind counter: “Oh yah here’s an application!”
I have to admit I was in shock for a little bit, but I did get things filled out.
On Sunday night I was in front of 7-11 trying to sell prints and stickers, I mean I am completely out of options, I really don’t have any video games that are valuable enough to get anything out of if I trade or pawn them, the pawn shops won’t take anything I have of value, and jobs are virtually impossible to get, so I printed up some stickers and 10 copies each of my prints and sat in front of 7-11 like some poor slob with a sign that said “My art for sale!”
I was there for a like 8 hours or more and made a whole 13 bucks, but at least I had gas!
I went into town updated everything, and now Wal-Marts being a jerk because I keep calling and asking if they are hiring for that night position yet, now it’s to where they won’t even let me talk to anyone real any more because they’re tired of getting bugged about it.
MORE bad news is that there’s a girl who’s training to get her drivers license and while we were at jam night she wanted to go home and practice driving along the way.
So I was all “Sure why not!”
We were doing yard work before that so there was a burn barrel and some ladders in the drive way and a pole sticking out of the ground where there used to be a wire gate…
And My first thought was “Gosh I hope she can navigate without hitting that pole!”
Well lets just say she couldn’t
Well I was afraid of it happening but the sad thing is it’s not that she did it, that upset me the most, but rather my friend who was all “Oh don’t worry that will buff right out!”
IT”S A GOUGE IN THE SIDE OF MY CAR AND IT WILL “BUFF OUT?”
You can see in the third pic that that pole scraped with FORCE I mean it warped the shape of the metal on the DOOR for peats sake!
And yah that’s not dust on that scrape that’s METAL SHARDS where it scraped SO HARD it gouged right INTO the metal, it basically looks like a 400 pound dude leaned on a screwdriver and gouged the side of my Explorer with it!
He’s even after we left STILL trying to downplay how bad it is and I’m just trying not to think about it,
“Oh yah it will just buff off”
“It’s just some chipped paint!”
You know if it happened to his Mustang I guarantee he’d be FREAKING OUT!!!!
BUT because it’s just my nerdy Explorer (Everything in relation to me is nerdy in this crappy little town!) it doesn’t matter!
Part of the reason I REALLY want a job again is I am so I can get my own place again, I am so sick of my stuff being messed up and NOT MATTERING!
In all the moving I have done I have lost my actually GOOD scanner, many of my favorite videogames (Especially Gran Turismo 4), my VCR had just QUIT working, many cords vital to the function of my videogame systems have just vanished, my TV has had to go to the Kids because they broke there’s, my PS2 has quit playing DVD’s (and is on occasion having problems with games), many of my DVD’s have Vanished (No I’m NOT trying to say any one took them, things I own have a tendency to do that!) and the kids ruined my Sonic the Hedgehog SATAM DVD…
And that’s not even counting all the stuff I’ve had to pawn sell and trade!
AND NOW MY EXPLORER HAS A HUGE GOUGE IN THE SIDE OF IT and I’m not allowed to be upset over ANY OF IT because I’m just a parasite living off of my friends!!!!!
I really am glad I have a place to stay but I have noticed a change in the way I’m talked about around the house as well
I’ve heard many times people saying things like “He just sits on his ass all day and eats our food what a peace of shit!” Twice just bumping into a conversation here and there so I can only imagine what they must be saying about me while I can’t hear it.
I want a job so I can at least be on the same rank as a human again!
But it’s always the same story every business I go into!
Big Business are all: “Oh we’re not hiring but you can fill out an application if you want!” (or they just look at you funny)
Chain food stores are all: “No we’re not hiring but if you fill out an application and update it EVERYDAY you MIGHT just get a shot of someone quits or gets fired!”
And small businesses are all: “Nope I’m not hiring I just laid off half my crew!”
It’s pretty much 100% hopeless!
My only hope right now is that I’ll wake up to some good news tomorrow or something! |

Man it's hard to think of good dialog while filming and driving at the same time!
There were a few other little stops made here and there as well, but these were the "best" and like I said in the video I was trying to keep the camera out of sight because people get all paranoid when they see a camera around.
Yah I put the part where I'm just driving through the town because some one requested to see what the town I live in looks like!

Well shoot! I can’t the life of me find a job!
I keep running low on gas and I can’t really afford to drive all over town updating applications, and to top things off the way my friends are treating me is getting annoying!
It’s REALLY frustrating how he manages to have other friends that are magically getting jobs that they’re not even qualified for just by filling out an application.
And then there’s me who can’t get any good luck to save my life leaving me updating applications at McDonalds and 7-11
What’s even more annoying is that McDonalds JUST hired a whole crew and I guess just ignored me in this whole process!
I mean finding a job is a fucking mind game any more and some how I’m the only one that doesn’t have the rulebook!
It’s like the rules just don’t apply to any one but me and it’s really pissing me off!
PLUS I had heard Wal-Mart had a hire freeze that was extended to like September so I didn’t even bother with them…
Then I read on Craigslist that a firm was “Doing a remodel of Wal-Mart” was looking for people with experience in carpentry…
I was all “Hmm if this was just posted I bet Wal-Mart hasn’t even started hiring there crew yet, so I call them up and the lady on the phone was all
“Oh yah we just hired 75 people for that we have no need for any more!”
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!!
Some places like when people update applications and some only give work to those who only come in to fill one out and just wait for work…
And you can forget about guessing witch business is witch because simply trying to find out will make you lose the game!
Oh I mean “the game”
I can also tell my friends getting annoyed with me not having a job and thinking I’m just living off of them too
So Here’s my plan…
If I don’t have a Job by the end of the month I’m moving out…Yah sure it will probably take pawning every video game I own but I just can’t take it any more
I just don’t know what to do I mean I am now hearing of tons of people who are getting jobs (Sure they are doing things to get jobs I can’t do but who cares!)
I’m sick and tired of being viewed as the loser living off his friends and I just CAN’T GET A JOB NO MATTER WHAT I DO!!!!
I keep being told to move to a place with better employment or something but that would just put me in the same situation just somewhere else
THIS IS JUST BULLSHIT I can’t find a job and people just fucking ignore any journal posts that say “Commissions open” SO WHAT THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO FUCKING DO?!?!?!?!
I am at a complete loss as for what to do…
And the worst thing about this is I'm not even allowed to be pissed off about this, every time I talk to any one about it I get

What makes a good movie good?
What makes a Bad movie bad?
It depends on who you talk to mostly but it has been something that I have taken a lot of guff for, and it’s only made worse because if I say a movie’s bad the next words from there mouth are ALLWAYS “Well you don’t like it because it’s not a cartoon!”
Or “Your opinion doesn’t matter because you watch cartoons!”
Like I watch the trailers for Wolverine Origins, and G.I. Joe the rise of Cobra…
And I am REALLY unimpressed
They look to me as a couple of over hyped cookie cutter plotted movies with multy million dollar budgets
I can’t say there BAD movies because I haven’t SEEN them yet but they don’t LOOK good from what I’ve seen.
Good or bad I still wanna see the G.I Joe one JUST for the big fight between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow!
And most people hate me for saying it but I hated the Transformers movie! Now don’t get me wrong I LOVE Transformers but the movies was just lame as hell to me, and the trailer to the second one almost makes me go “UGH! Not again!” when I see it…
The first X-Men movie was awesome because it had never been done before and people have been talking about an X-Men movies for YEARS!
Then the next one came out…and it was basically a carbon copy of the first…oh yah we’ll just throw in some more special effects people wont notice…
They suffer from TRYING TO HARD it’s like it isn’t good enough just to make a good movie anymore they HAVE to fallow certain guidelines,
There has to be enough
Male VS Female characters
Enough Minority characters
They have to have what ever music is MOST popular at the moment
There Has to be sexual tension between the hottest girl and the nerdiest dude (in the event it’s a super hero movie just make the hero more nerdy)
And there HAS to be several scenes where the main character is free falling from one object to another with tons of debris flying around and the harder these scenes are to see the better
One thing that’s done a lot that I never have had to much of a problem with is “Product Placement”
This can be good or bad for a movie
Like in 2 Fast 2 Furious the main character was SUPPOSED to drive a Nissan Skyline but because they had a contract with Mitsubishi it became an Evo and a Spider
Now lets say you have a scene at a restaurant witch is easier to relate to
A dude sitting next to a car drinking a soda
Or a Dude sitting next to His 71 Dodge challenger in a Dickie's shirt drinking a Monster Energy drink.
So what ARE movies I thin will look good?
I know the G.I.Joe movie is going to be bad BUT I STILL WANNA SEE IT!!!!!
Tokyo Gore police is one that caught my interest…and the trailer is pretty original as well!
Now I know this is a BAD example of what looks like a good movies but COME ON if they released this in America they probably cast Hally Berry and Jessica Simon in it!
Yah I know most people will say those are dumb movies!
Why will they say that?
Is it because there’s no Giant CGI robots throwing debris around?
Is it because the music will be something they haven’t heard before?
Is it because some times things won’t look super realistic because the director was making an artistic statement?
Or is it just because they just don’t “look” like movies people are used to seeing and being told they’re good?
So for all those who get mad when I say I don’t like a movie, or that a movies looks dumb SCREW YOU!
It’s not that I’m just such a NERD that I get mad when they don’t fallow the original story sorry, it’s not that it’s NOT A CARTOON, it’s just because I Genuinely feel that the movies IS BAD!
And yes most mainstream movies that have 45 million dollar budgets I have felt are BAD witch is horrible because that’s a lot of money to make CRAP!
It might take a lot to make me say a movie’s GOOD but what people don’t realize is it takes just as much for me to say a movie’s BAD!
And yes there have been MANY well written cartoons over the years! |

I have been doing a lot of thinking about animation, I mean think about it it’s something that combines my love of making movies and my love of drawing.
The problem is the idea of what some of my stories would look like as a cartoon is no where near what I would have the skill or time to do…
But it’s still fun to imagine right?
So what WOULD my creations look like as cartoons
I would imagine the characters would be done in traditional frame by frame animation (I HATE IMAGE TWEENING IT PISSES ME OFF SO BAAAAAAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and most likely some pretty thick out lines kinda like the animation used in the Gorillaz videos
As far as back grounds go there are few animations that really match what I would want I’m a Big fan of almost photo realistic backgrounds (some CGI is OK as lone as it makes the other wise 2D background “feel” 3d and used sparingly) you can see some in may StreetFighter movies
I found some animations on YouTube that come PRETTY close to what I’d imagine them looking like
This one is a good example of using CGI to create a good feeling of the environment and such but the anatomy used in the characters is WAY to far off for my taste this ones posted mainly for the use of effects and backgrounds!
THIS one is amazing the backgrounds are almost exactly what I would want and the way the characters move is beautiful! The girls look pretty cool in this one but the guys all suffer from that “slouched over” look that’s become popular since Samurai Shaamploo came on the scene
This is also a good example of how SOME CGI used in the backgrounds can be a good thing
As far as Fight scenes go I would have a LOT of fight scenes the closest “anime” I’ve seen that would come close to the “pacing” of my stuff is Afro Samurai it also comes pretty close to the over all look to what I would want… MINUS the music (as rap goes it’s pretty good but I am against rap!)
This Video shows good use of effects in a fight but some horrible “pacing”
And I LOVE the anatomy used in Street fighter animes!
There ARE better versions of that video just that one allowed embedding!
Any way those are about as close as I’ve ever seen to what I would want my stuff to look like and there are very few cartoons anime or not that use the type of anatomy I’d want the CLOSEST I’ve ever seen is SwatKats cartoons and maybe Biker Mice From Mars
Any way if you combine most of this and make one cartoon that would be what most of my ideas would look like
As far as Music goes there quite literally no animes or cartoons that come close to what I would want so there are no examples I can show ya’ll sorry

Pretty much the only way to get a job any more is to be best friends with some one who works there
Things that work against me for finding work
1: I was home schooled
All it takes is some one who actually graduated High School filling out an application and I’m screwed!
2: Weird work history:
I’ve lived back in Oregon for about five years and almost half of my employment history is out of the state and often has gaps in it and at least one company that doesn’t exist any more
3:I can’t write incursive!
Yah I never learned how to write incursive and sence I have bad handwriting my Applications I CAN fill out look like crap, and that’s usually the first thing they check is handwriting!
4: No real “Qualifications” in any field
Aside from the care industry there’s really no work related fields I have any experience in and most positions in the care industry don’t need experience
I know my friends are getting tired of having me around because in all “normal” normal lines if thinking s SHOULD have a job by now, and not having money to help with food and there bills makes it hard on them
So basically something NEEDS to change and it NEEDS to change right now!
But what….
What can I change with literally no recourses to my name!
Right now I can’t even AFFORD THE GAS to look for work!
Not that I could find any even if I could look…
All I CAN do is not act depressed all the time…
I mean even selling commissions is virtually impossible right now because most of the time when people see a journal called “Commissions Open” every one ignores them because they think the artist is trying to mooch money off of them!
I am so happy that I have friends and family that are willing to help and house me, as I look for work, but DAMMIT I’m tired of needing it
All I want is a solution, nothing special
I’m worn out and I don’t know what to do any more, and the worst thing is it’s my FRIENDS who are suffering because of it! |

Well almost right after I posted the journal that McDonalds might hire me, I get a MySpace message from my cousin in Seattle saying that the videogame company she works for is hiring,
While it’s only testers the fact that I might be able to get a good paying AND “fun” (fun is in quotations because testing isn’t always just sitting and playing a games) in a COOL city to boot!
I mean the hardest part of moving is getting a job and a place to live…
Yah there’s also the fact I have a horrid sence of directions…
But to get a JOB AND a place to live?
AWESOME!!!!!
I was afraid to write this journal is because this has JUST been mentioned so far and it might not even be a possibility
She has to give my resume to her boss, he has to read it, then he has to like me enough to say I get the job, then I have to pack every thing I own in my Explorer AGAIN
And the hardest part is get gas money to get up there!
Or what kind of time frame am I looking at IF it even happens
I mean it would be NICE if I could have time to talk to all my friends and stuff instead of running off and being all like “I’m leaving thanks for all the help screw you guys!!”
And the sheer fact I’m even taking the time to write about it means it might not happen so I shouldn’t get my hopes up!
But if it dose the planning and stuff will be ASTRONIMICAL!!!
I want to get excited BUT I also have to wait and see if it’s even to where it could even happen and stuff, I mean come on it sure sounds better than working at the Winston McDonalds that’s for sure…
But I can’t write THAT off either because if all this DOSEN’T happen I need that to fall back on.

Hey remember that band I said my friends were trying to start?
Well they have Jam nights roughly once a week and I have tried countless times to capture it on video, but between bad lighting, cheep cameras, and al kind of crap like that it’s been nearly impossible.
Until now! I’m actually pretty proud of this video I actually made it look pretty good,
It’s not the best but it’s a lot better than many of the videos that people are posting of recording them with there cell phones!
I actually added narration video effects and theme music (All made by the band of course) and tried to make it look cool

I wasn't to happy about how I was treated at pawn shops today...
so it was either get pissed off OR do something constructive!

Well I don’t know
When one needs to make money in a bad economy they start thinking about what to do a lot.
I’ll tell you what I want to do! I was to join a “project” or a group that has something going on!
One thing I get tired of is when people see I can draw they’re after “Hey can you draw this for me it’s part of _fill in the blanks_ I’ve always wanted to do!”
Often times it’s pics for a Sci-Fi novel they’ve been writing for 10 years or a dream or some videogame that my art would never fit but because they see my stuff they instantly feel the urge to try this idea again, I mean heck when I started posting artwork online I got TONS of offers to draw for web sites that claimed to be “A way to play Dungeons and Dragons on line” small little comic companies and tones of “little projects” that you’ve never heard of sence
I don’t know what I’d do but if you look at the guys at IGN they’re just a bunch of dudes who liked videogames and found a way to make money off of it!
I want to be a part of a group that has the MOTAVATION, the WILL POWER and DESIRE, and RESCOURSES to ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING!!!!!
Now my friends have a “band” they’ve started and to be honest it SEEMS they could take it somewhere, and they let me design there first album cover and there mascot

I also help a lot with the editing and stuff but it seems I’m slowly being pushed out of that position….
BUT maybe I’m just being paranoid
But MY POINT is I’m tired of trying all an my own and want to be around people who WANT to succeed!

Yah I have an $80 bill for insurance on my Explorer due on the 28th and I don't know what is is but this stupid Explorer is single handedly the most expensive Vehicle Ive ever had to ensure!

Well one thing I've always wanted to do is make a little internet video series, you know perhaps something like The Angry Videogame Nerd, the Irate Gamer...

Yah when I wanted to start this (years ago) the idea was it would be videos of me and my friends doing stupid stuff (kinda like Jackass but like actually smart), and the idea was pretty fresh at the time but now it's been done a zillion times and no one really wants to get hurt on camera any more.
Now as I would rather avoid any severe legal actions would rather avoid that idea, and there's always stupid things like game reviews, movie reviews , what ever I don't know
but seriously how many times has that been done?
One thing I would like to do is post videos of me drawing and some photoshop tutorials but I lack software to accomplish that!
In short my question is what would YOU like to see? |
